For members’ convenience in preparing to choose the 2026-2027 season at our May 19th meeting, here (in alphabetical order by title) is a list of the proposals received so far:
Amadeus. (Full Proposal) - Fall, Winter, or Spring
Director: TJ Johnston
Synopsis: Aging composer Antonio Salieri recounts the story of how his envy of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his anger at God for not giving him the talent that Mozart has, ends up destroying both men. While a tragedy, Amadeus explores themes of whether greatness is earned or bestowed, feelings of not quite being good enough, the close ties between envy and hate, and how hate eventually hurts the hater as much or more than the hated.
Characters: 6 men, 3 women, 5 any.
Angel Street aka Gas Light. (Full Proposal) - Any
Director: Ivory Mazur
Synopsis: A 1938 thriller play, set in 1880s London. A dark tale of a marriage based on deceit and trickery, and a husband committed to driving his wife insane in order to steal from her.
Characters: 3-4 men, 3 women.
Come From Away. (Full Proposal) - Any
Director: Ivory Mazur
Synopsis: True story of 7,000 passengers stranded in Newfoundland on 9/11 and the town that
welcomed them.
Characters: 6 men, 6 women.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical. (Full Proposal) - December
Director: Jodi MacNeal & Jenn Fritchley
Synopsis: Greg Heffley’s funny (and painfully relatable) middle school
adventures. Greg is convinced he’s destined to be rich and famous someday—but for now, he’s just trying
to survive the everyday chaos of school.
Characters: 3 men, 3 women, 2 teen boys, 4 girls, any number any.
Disney's High School Musical. (Full Proposal) - Winter
Director: Sam Pelham Kunz & Jodi MacNeal
Synopsis: Troy, Gabriella and the
students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends and family while balancing
their classes and extracurricular activities.
Characters: 1 man, 1 woman, 5 teen boys, 4 teen girls, 20+ total adults and teens.
Dogfight. (Full Proposal) - Any
Director: Ivory Mazur
Synopsis: In the early 1960s, three marines join in a bet about Rose, an awkward and idealistic waitress. Rose rewrites the rules with the power of love and compassion.
Characters: 7 men, 6 women.
Jesus Christ Superstar. (Full Proposal) - Winter or Spring
Director: Stuart Yaden
Synopsis: The last days of Jesus as told in rock opera form. Includes nuanced and unique interpretations of the different biblical character's perspectives while dramatizing such events as Jesus driving out the money changers, the last supper, Judas' betrayal, King Herod's trial, and Jesus' crucifixion, among others.
Characters: About 18 any.
Kurt Vonnegut's God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. (Full Proposal) - Spring
Director: Kevin Kunz
Synopsis: In his quest for purpose and meaning, Eliot Rosewater, the slightly insane heir to the largest family fortune in America decides to spend the money revitalizing a derelict and impoverished Indiana small town. Efforts to derail his philanthropy come from several different directions.
Characters: 10 men, 5 women.
Musical Review. (Full Proposal) - Spring
Director: Devin Sudman
Synopsis: An evening of musical theater and contemporary favorites performed in a cabaret style setting.
Characters: 10-15 any.
A Year with Frog and Toad . (Full Proposal) - Any
Director: Ivory Mazur
Synopsis: A musical that follows the woodland adventures of two amphibious friends, a worrywart toad and
a perky frog, with their assorted colorful hopping, crawling and flying companions, over the
course of a year.
Characters: 5 men, 3 women, 2-4 boys, 2-4 girls.
